A Fort Wayne native, Dr. Gabrek attended Bishop Luers High School and earned his undergraduate degree from Purdue University in Fort Wayne. He continued his education at the Indiana University School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). Dr. Gabrek completed a General Practice Residency as well as a Periodontic Residency at the Veterans Hospital in Indianapolis. He also received his Master of Science degree in Dentistry (MSD) from Indiana University. After completing his education, Dr. Gabrek returned to his hometown and joined the practice alongside Dr. Hagedorn.
 
Dr. Gabrek is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Indiana Dental Association (IDA), the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), and the Midwest Society of Periodontology. As well as the Isaac Knapp District Dental Society, where he served as the president on the Foundation Board.
 
Dr. Gabrek enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and flying. He also enjoys spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends.
